The last movie for August’s theme of high school movies was left to Corey (@coreyrstarr) to choose. She picked Fame (1980), which Jonathan (@berkreviews) hadn’t seen either. The movie is directed by Alan Parker starring Eddie Barth, Irene Cara, and Lee Curreri. The film didn’t really grab either of them, though, leaving the month on a bit of a sour note.

The month of September brings in a new theme: Musicals! Jonathan chose The Phantom of the Opera (2004) for the first movie of the month. The film was directed by Joel Schumacher and stars Gerard Butler, Emmy Rossum, and Patrick Wilson. Corey’s not super excited about the month as she’s struggling to find picks, but it should be interesting.

Berk Reviews Movie Club – General Info
Corey and Jonathan both realized they had a ton of movies they’d never seen. In an effort to work through their gap list, they started this podcast to ensure they at least check one new film off the list almost every week. Thus, for a film to qualify for Movie Club one or both have to have never seen it or at least not seen it for a long time.
