Berkreviews.com Movie Club episode 069 – Inherent Vice (2014)
We are in May and that means there is a new theme for Movie Club. Paul Thomas Anderson is a director that Jonathan (@berkreviews) needs to explore more of and thus a theme was born. To start the month off, Jonathan and Corey (@coreyrstarr) picked Inherent Vice from 2014 starring Joaquin Phoenix, Josh Brolin, Owen Wilson, Katherine Waterston, and Joanna Newsom. Corey had seen this one before, but it was the first viewing for Jonathan. Their interpretations of the film are quite different, too.

Continuing the exploration of PTA, Corey selected Boogie Nights (1997) starring Mark Wahlberg, Julianne Moore, Burt Reynolds, Don Cheadle, and John C. Reilly. Jonathan actually saw this when he was in high school, but definitely hasn’t watched it with a critical eye.

Berk Reviews Movie Club – General Info
Corey and Jonathan both realized they had a ton of movies they’d never seen. In an effort to work through their gap list, they started this podcast to ensure they at least check one new film off the list almost every week. Thus, for a film to qualify for Movie Club one or both have to have never seen it or at least not seen it for a long time.
