Movie Club – Selma (2014)

The last film for the political theme was Selma (2014) directed by Ava DuVernay and starring David Oyelowo, Carmen Ejogo, Tim Roth, and many more. They both knew this film would wreck them emotionally and were proven correct.

Next Episode: You Were Never Really Here (2017)

The last month of 2018 will have Jonathan and Corey looking back at the year and trying to catch a few films that they missed. Corey selected Lynne Ramsay’s You Were Never Really Here, which stars Joaquin Phoenix, Judith Roberts, and Ekaterina Samsonov. Jonathan just recently watched this film and isn’t thrilled about returning to it.

Berk Reviews Movie Club – General Info

Corey and Jonathan both realized they had a ton of movies they’d never seen. In an effort to work through their gap list, they started this podcast to ensure they at least check one new film off the list almost every week. Thus, for a film to qualify for Movie Club one or both have to have never seen it or at least not seen it for a long time.
