After seeing Suicide Squad, I needed to revisit my favorite live action Joker. The Dark Knight is easily my favorite of the Nolan trilogy. Heath Ledger’s performance is amazing. It’s a movie that can be enjoyed by almost anyone. I give Dark Knight the Must See rating.
The Dark Knight is a favorite film of mine.
The Joker (Heath Ledger) has begun wreaking havoc on Gotham City. Lieutenant James Gordon (Gary Oldman), Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart), and Batman (Christian Bale) must come figure out how to work together to stop this new threat.
Christopher Nolan has directed some of my favorite films. For example, I love Inception, Interstellar, Memento, and the Batman Trilogy. He always does something pretty amazing in his films. The Dark Knight he flips a semi-truck which is pretty awesome. He also managed to cast Heath Ledger as the Joker. That was a choice that I initially rejected, much like most of the Bat-fans.
An amazing movie with an amazing cast.
The cast in the Dark Knight is large and awesome. Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Cillian Murphy, Gary Oldman, Aaron Eckhart, Christian Bale, and Heath Ledger. While many of those give great performances, Heath Ledger is the one who impacted me most. Ledger gives the performance of a lifetime as the clown prince of crime. Every scene that I remember from The Dark Knight revolves around Ledger’s performance. The line reads he gives are amazing and, most important of all, powerful. He’s both entertaining and rather terrifying. He is the Joker.
The Dark Knight is a movie I’ll revisit from time to time over my life. It’s definitely my favorite Batman films and features my favorite embodiment of my favorite villain. My daughter watched it for her first time with me. She seemed to enjoy it and was really impressed by the sequence in the hospital. Joker in the nurse’s gown really made her laugh. His conversation with Harvey Dent is extremely memorable.
