I wanted to see The Conjuring when it was coming out, but I missed the opportunity. Since the sequel comes out this weekend I figured now was as good a time as any. I wasn’t sure if The Conjuring would be a film that would actually scare me or interest me, but it managed to do both. I think The Conjuring is a Must See horror film.
The Conjuring is a Must See Horror film about…
Based on a true events of Ed (Patrick Wilson) and Lorraine (Vera Farmiga) Warren who are paranormal investigators that work to help a family who is being tormented by a dark presence in their newly acquired farmhouse.
This film brings the scary in a variety of ways. The most way that worked for me the most was putting characters that I had started to care about put in terrifying situations. Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga are both great in this film. I particularly like Patrick Wilson and totally relate with his desire to protect his wife from her own abilities and desire to help people no matter the cost. Then Ron Livingston plays Roger Perron and Lili Taylor plays his wife, Carolyn, with their five daughters phentermine med (Shanley Caswell, Hayley McFarland, Joey King, Mackenzie Foy, and Kyla Deaver) add another group of people that manage to make me care for their well-being. I always feel Lili Taylor is a bit much, but she was good in this film.
Directed by James Wan who directed Furious 7, Insidious 1 & 2, which I plan on watching, and the upcoming Aquaman. I’ve not seen any of his work until now, but he definitely did a great job with this film. I’ve heard good things about the others so I assume this guy has talent.
The film establishes a creepy atmosphere with music and the setting. The story that’s being told is interesting. Also, seeing how ghost hunters operated in the early 70’s was something I didn’t know I wanted to know, but found out I was extremely interested in. I’m definitely going to be researching the Warrens and following up on their stories.
If you like horror films I think this one works really well. I’m looking forward to the second one now and will hopefully see it this weekend. If you’re a fan of being scared it’s worth your time and available for $2 to rent on Vudu.
