I waited many years to finally watch Cloverfield and I was pleasantly surprised. The trailer for the pseudo-sequel definitely prompted me to move the original up on the list, so on release night I took my daughter to see 10 Cloverfield Lane (IMDb), which currently has 91% on Rotten Tomatoes.
I was really busy today working on reading chapters for my new master class that starts this week and finishing pages of the yearbook. I decided to really test my attention skills today and watch a foreign film while working. Battle Royale has an 86% on Rotten Tomatoes and is currently available to stream on […]
It’s a Saturday night and I need to watch a movie. My wife goes to Walgreens and comes home with a fun, light hearted movie to watch…Suffragette, which has 73% on Rotten Tomatoes. I was immediately, although silently, worried that this would be a really dull film and I would be miserable. I’d not really […]
I’ve heard several reviews saying that The End of the Tour, which has 91% on Rotten Tomatoes, was a film that should have been seen by more people. It’s now free with Amazon Prime to watch on Amazon Instant and I gladly sat late to watch this film.
After watching Mad Max Fury Road my wife proclaimed she had a new boyfriend. Thus, I knew it would be easy to convince her to watch Legend, which has 61% on Rotten Tomatoes, as it’s double the Tom Hardy goodness. We rented it from Vudu and sat down to see the story of the Kray […]
Brie Larson is the most recent Best Actress winner and well deserved after her performance in Room. Not too long ago, on Maltin on Movies, Leonard Maltin and Baron Vaughn discussed the movie Short Term 12, which has 99% on Rotten Tomatoes, and me and my wife decided to watch it on Netflix.
I was out with my wife and daughter today. They were shopping for clothes and such, and I decided to catch a movie on Netflix while they did their thing. I picked the Station Agent, which has a 95% on Rotten Tomatoes, as Leonard Maltin and Baron Vaughn recently recommended this film.
This is another Battleship Pretension film suggestion most notably for the gimmick that the film contains. The entire movie is filmed in on extremely long (2 and a half hours) take. To clarify, there is one camera, they pressed record, and then they film the entire movie before ever stopping the recording. If there are […]
I appear to be a sucker for a good underdog story. I mean, as a teacher I am constantly having to undo the brainwashing of “I can’t,” “You’re not good enough,” or “It is impossible,” in order to help my students reach their full potential. As a person, I’ve always been a bit of an […]
Brooklyn, which has a 98% on Rotten Tomatoes, was the last of the best picture nominations that I hadn’t seen so it was the obvious choice for the movie tonight. It’s one that my circle of film podcasts was split on. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about it, but it definitely didn’t disappoint.
